Imagine that, as punishment for a crime that you do not remember committing, you have been taken to another planet where strange beasts roam the land. You are given a simple weapon and are instructed to periodically kill any beasts that try to attack you and present them as offerings to the various local gods. There are barracks containing soldiers who will help you with the offerings and a temples where the offerings are made. You see a beast approaching, and so you aim your weapon at the beast and fire. However, instead of flying toward the beast, your missile veers off to the side. You quickly discover that the laws of physics on this planet are not like those on earth! Furthermore, you notice that everywhere above and around you is the ever-present Flux. Vortices of Flux drop down from the sky like tornadoes, and one by one your missIles disappear into one of the vortices. Meanwhile, the deadly beast approaches rapidly, and if you cannot figure out how to dispatch the beast, certain death awaits. Welcome to the world of Flux-Based Computer Gaming™. Flux-Based Computer Gaming™ is a completely new genre of computer gaming, unlike any other type of computer game created to date. Although it might be said that the closest current genre that it resembles is Role-Playing Games, Flux-Based Computer Gaming™ is really a completely new genre.
Flux-Based Computer Gaming™ uses geometric analogies to allow people to better understand each other's viewpoint. In the game, soldiers represent ideas, and battles are fought between players having differing viewpoints.
The first Flux-Based Computer Game™ will be Flux Warrior™, a full 3-D game that is still under development. In the meantime, you can experience the general feel of a Flux-Based Computer Game™ by playing Flux World™, a 2-D version of the game that introduces many of the features of the full 3-D game.
